FAQ

Are Hollywood and Bollywood bigger than Bollywood?

Producing a movie that is well-received by the public is the biggest challenge for film producers.

Problem is, there are many films competing for viewers' time and money. It's hard to stand out among the rest and get noticed.

But what makes a movie great? What makes an actor or director famous? Or a director? It's not just talent - it's also luck. Even if you have the most talented actors in the world they won't be able to make it work if they write bad scripts.

When it comes to movies, there are two main types. There are big-budget blockbusters as well as small independent productions. Producing and distributing blockbuster movies can cost hundreds of millions. They are typically made by huge studios who want to ensure that their movies reach a wide audience. However, these films with big budgets appeal mostly to older viewers.

Independent films are generally smaller-scale productions that may be financed by individuals or groups of investors. These films tend to target niche markets and are tailored to specific tastes. They are generally less costly to produce and market. However, this does not mean they are always less expensive to watch. It is actually very difficult to find most indie movies.

Is it possible to have both types of films? Are we going to need both big blockbuster movies or small independent films? Well, I think that Hollywood is actually bigger than Bollywood. Hollywood makes almost twice the number of movies each year than India.

Why are there so few independent films that get released?

Indie filmmakers tend to assume that distributors will buy their films.

They are certain distributors will take their films, as they know that the public will love them.

This is not often the case. Independent filmmakers are often used by distributors.

They use tactics such as delaying a film's release date until after awards season has ended.

They might delay the release of low-budget films until after the summer blockbuster series has begun.

Distributors try to keep films out of the hands of audiences until they've spent hundreds on tickets, popcorn, and candy.

They don't want any of those profits to go to waste.

Why don't more filmmakers use crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo?

Crowdfunding sites are great because they allow you to reach out directly to potential investors.

But most filmmakers don't think they're qualified to ask for money. They believe they need another person to verify their claims.

And since they haven't proven themselves yet, they don't think anyone should invest in them.

Instead, they spend months focusing on their project and hoping that someone will notice.

Then they realize that they didn't properly prepare for the launch of their campaign.

Instead of receiving thousands upon thousands of dollars, the recipients end up with a handful donations.

How many movies is Hollywood making in a single year?

Hollywood studios produce around 3,000 films per year. That's right, three thousand!

Hollywood spends billions to advertise for these movies. They spend millions on their production. And they spend millions promoting them. How many of these movies do you think end up in theaters?

Most likely, the answer is around 200-300. What happens then to the 2,700+ remaining films? They are either distributed as direct-to–video releases or simply left in storage.

Not all of them will be undiscovered. Some of them have been selected for distribution via Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus, iTunes, Google Play, etc.

Hence why don't more of these films be released? Why aren’t they being shown in theaters instead? They are too expensive for production.

They could also be made cheaper and put into theaters.

I can help. I can help guide you in the best way possible to put your movie in theaters.

I'll show how to maximize your return-on-investment (ROI) as well as increase your chances for seeing your movie in theatres.

Let's face it, we all know...

It can be very difficult to get your film in theaters. This process can be complicated, lengthy, and filled with legalities.

It can also come at a high cost before you even begin.

Even worse, your window of opportunity to distribute your film is very limited.

There is not enough time to wait between the completion of a film and its theatrical release.
