The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in 1960 established the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The HWOF can be found at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, California. It consists of 2,711 stars embedded into the sidewalk along Hollywood Boulevard. Each star represents a person who has contributed to television, radio, theatre, music, motion pictures, or any other aspect of popular culture. There are 1,922 individuals currently listed on HWOF.
To become a HWOF member, you need to submit a name to Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. They then submit your details to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
